Can't connect to my own server: "Cannot authenticate due to internal protocol error."

I'm getting the above error trying to connect to my own jabberd2 server.
I've gotten Pidgin and Psi to connect to it, but I'm having poblems with Coccinella. I've tried all sorts of configurations, (my account has already been created on the server), and I've had no luck.
Can someone help me with the configuration?

which version of coccinella did you used, I guess latest release?
What are your connection settings?
The error message is from jabber/Login.tcl, and is a fairly general fallback. Do you can open the XML console, and try again to login. To open the XML console hit CTRL-SHIFT-D. Then cut'n paste the output while you are logging in here. Make sure that there might be passwords in the output.
