Hi, i would like that coccinella had a masterlock or some special icon when an user establish a secured connection. Actually i don´t know if a server support secured connection or i have a secured connection.
When a server does not support a secured connection while you try to connect in a secured way, you will get an error that the connection failed and no unsecure connection will be established AFAIK. Can you explain why such a lock can be still useful and how it can be put in the interface without distracting stupid end users who don't know what this lock means?

Actually I don´t get any error of a failed connection when i try to connect a server. And there´s no way to know if i stablished a secured connection or not. Even if the server supports some authentication method.
For example i tried a secured connection with my Enterprise Jabber Server activating the "use SASL Authentication" in "use secure connection" option. The server doesn´t support it, but conccinella didn´t get any error and i had to call server ADministrator to know if i had a secure connection (of course i didn´t have a secured connection). When i used the "use TLS and SASL" the Administrator told me that i had a secured connection but conccinella never informed me about that...
A small lock with context messagge "you established a secured connection" with a mouse point could be ussefull. The Empresarial IM is using jabber thinking in security and secured connections....

Bug 159929: Indicate when a connection is secured
Hi, This bug is marked as
Hi,
This bug is marked as "Fixed released" in version 0.96.4, but I can't see the lock in the latest version...
I am very interested in this feature, being able to know when the connection is encrypted or not is very important.
Regards,
Nicolas.
When the connection is
When the connection is encrypted you will see a lock icon in the bottom right corner of the main dialog with your contacts. Else, nothing is showed.
