File transfers problems

Hi, I just found out about Coccinella and think this application has great potential and can help us.

I am mainly interested in the whiteboard functionality, but images transfers are not working (as well as all other file transfers). It also fails when we directly transfer a file (not via the whiteboard). I've seen a few messages on the forums about this but most are unanswered.

I use a Google account (Jabber server is talk.google.com), and my friend uses another Jabber server (jabber.fr). Could this problem be linked to the Jabber servers we use? I dont think so, because I tried using a jabber.fr and it failed the same way.

We use 0.96.12 on Linux and OS X respectively.

I opened the requested ports in my router and verified that this works ok. So this *should* work, I dont understand why it fails. Should ports be opened at both ends?

Do you have an IRC channel? Or is anybody willing to give me his contact so we can try to solve this problem?

Thanks

Jean-Noel

Possibly. Maybe you can first try in your local network? I tested images transfers in the whiteboard in last version of Coccinella on Mac OS X and the Windows version of Coccinella using Wine on Mac OS X (same machine). This worked without problems.

It's true that file transfers are not NAT-proof, however my coding skills are very limited and Mats isn't available anymore. :-( So your patches will be highly appreciated!

An empty support channel would make no sense. Also, why use an inferior technology whilst Coccinella has built-in support for the much better Multi-User Chat (MUC)? So, if a chat channel would be added in the future, it has to be MUC.
