Bugs?

I'm not sure if these are bugs, and I tried to put them in the development section but it wouldn't accept that I was already logged in or my sign-on and password.

OS- Windows 2000 5.0.2195 Service pack 4

- Each time I open Coccinella, I get the presence subscription note. It tells me again that my contact allows me to see them.

- I have used the 'contact action' to be able to see when something is typed in the window. I have checked 'show popup', 'start chat', 'play sound'. When something is typed I get 4 popups.
The contact couldn't see this option when they right clicked on my name. He went into preferences and restored factory defaults and then could see the option. I then restored factory defaults as well and will see if it fixes that and report it here.
? Could there be a timer so that if an alert has been sent in the last X seconds it doesn't send another?
++ no the return to factory default settings did not change the number of alerts.

- I tried to put an AIM contact in but I only get the option for a jabber client and not what the instructions show for adding an aim contact.

Still a great program.

This is strange. Can you provide more information? Which Coccinella version do you have? Which Jabber client does your contact have, is it also Coccinella? Which Jabber server are you using? Anything else that might help to help us solve your issue?

Your contact is also using Coccinella and you believe this is a bug, right?

What do you mean with this?

Your Jabber server probably does not have an AIM transport on it. You can use the AIM transport of another Jabber server this way:

  1. In the Action menu, select Discover Server....
  2. Enter for example jaim.at and check Discover permanently
  3. Now press the Add Contact button and the AIM option will be available

This must be a bug in the server or likely, on of its components (aim?), that constantly sends out new subscription confirmations. Or it does something else that ain't get interpreted correctly. In a situation like this one it helps enormously if you do Info/Debug menu, or start with -debugLevel 4, and see what the xml I/O looks like. you can also try the XML console.
