Segfault under Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10

I downloaded the latest binary for Linux (Coccinella-0.96.10Linux-x86.tar.gz) and upon start the splash screen would show some initialization stuff before the whole program segfaults. Here is the debug output

$ ./Coccinella-0.96.10.bin -debugLevel 4
--> initHook
--> postInitHook
Segmentation fault

I'm running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 on a ThinkPad X61t. By default Intrepid comes with Tcl/Tk 8.4, but installing the optionally available 8.5 packages didn't help. What helped, however, was the source version. It worked like a charm with no segfaults at all when started with

tclsh8.5 ./Coccinella.tcl

By the way, did you know that since Ubuntu 8.10 it is possible to set a global available/away status in the GNOME Gui? Compatible IM like Pidgin will automatically change their status according to this. Would be really cool if Coccinella support this too, e.g. by changing the beetle symbol in the panel according to the status.
